NEXT MEETING

Our next meeting will be held

Salute to the CSA FLAG

At the beginning of each meeting, after the pledge to the US Flag, a salute is given to the Confederate Flag. The salute to the Confederate Flag is given in the following manner.

The compatriot extends their right arm outward and down, extending the arm slightly to the right. The right hand is open with the palm turned upward.  The following words are then said as a group.

“I salute the Confederate flag with affection, reverence, and undying devotion to the cause for which it stands.”

Cemetery Clean Up Project

We will be continuing our cemetery clean up soon. After the Holidays we will be going back to check on the condition of them and do general maintenance. If any one has a specific cemetery in Montgomery County that has a Confederate soldier and may be in need of some attention please let us know and we will see what we can do to help.

Future Projects

We have had several other ideas for projects that our camp will address at the next meeting. One is creating a directory of the soldiers buried in Montgomery County. And another is getting some new grave markers to replace some stones that are falling apart and cannot be read very well any more.

Memorial Day Flag Placing

Pictured is the 2006 Flag Placing Crew that helped put out the flags in Greenwood & Riverview Cemeteries.
